About CBC
About Connecticut Boat Club.
A nonprofit all-girls rowing club on the Norwalk River, founded in 2010 by head coach Liz Trond.
Our story
Founded in 2010. 13 national titles since.
Connecticut Boat Club was founded in 2010 by head coach Liz Trond. Since then we have won 13 USRowing national championships, one stripe on our crest for each. Our rowers come from Darien, New Canaan, Westport, Weston, Wilton, Ridgefield, Stamford, Norwalk and Westchester.
Most of our athletes had never rowed before CBC. Rowing is a consummate team sport: making a boat go fast takes everyone working together and pushing hard. So we hold our girls to a great attitude and an appetite to learn, from each other and from their coaches.
About 80% of our athletes come to love rowing so much that it shapes their college choice. Our alumnae have rowed at 70+ college programs, and one of them, Kelsey Reelick, went on to row at the Paris Olympics.
