Racing Team
Racing season.
For experienced rowers and coxswains, and new athletes at the coaches’ discretion. The coaches place each athlete on the Varsity or Novice squad. Athletes train and race in both sweep and sculling boats. Not every athlete comes every day: coxswains and younger athletes have the flexibility to come fewer days.

Before her first practice
What she needs
- Arrive 5 minutes before practice, after a full lunch and a healthy snack.
- Running shoes for the land warm-up. Running and the rowing machine are part of every practice.
- Close-fitting athletic clothes, so nothing catches in the equipment.
- A water bottle, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen, every practice.
