Sophie Bell

Sophie started her rowing career at CBC in 8th grade. She is a Senior at Darien High School.

Career Highlights:

In 2021 Sophie steered the U17 2x down the Head of the Charles race course as a freshman, earning a 5th place finish. That spring, she bowed the U17 4x at Youth Nationals finishing 4th in the nation. As a sophomore in 2022, she raced in the U19 4+ at Head of the Charles that came in 4th place. One year later in 2023, she raced in the same boat at HOCR as a junior and came back with gold. In the spring of 2024, Sophie raced in Sarasota, Florida at Youth Nationals in the 4- and won gold.

Fun Facts: 

  • Sophie had dual citizenship with Canada and United States
  • She is a certified Level 100 Ski instructor, and every weekend in the winter she coaches 7 and 8 year olds in Alpine Racing. 
  • Her favorite food is Kraft Mac and Cheese with Hot Dogs
  • Sophie is 6’1
  • Sophie won Junior Club Champion at WeeBurn for golf
