Meet the coaches.

Our coaches have rowed and coached at the college, national team and international level, and they have been developing CBC rowers since 2010.

Liz Trond, CBC coach

Liz Trond

Head Coach and founder

Founded CBC in 2010. Former U.S. Junior Women’s Head Coach, and she still races as a Masters rower.

Mitz Carr

Varsity Team Assistant Coach

Raced at the U.S. National Team Trials and coached at Wisconsin and Trinity College. She first coached alongside Liz in 2002.

Steve Baranoski

Varsity Team Assistant Coach

Coached at Wesleyan, Princeton National Rowing Association and the University of San Diego before joining CBC in spring 2024.

Jim Sweitzer, CBC coach

Jim Sweitzer

Novice Team Coach

Joined Liz for CBC’s first season in 2010, after coaching at New Canaan, St. Luke’s and Greenwich. He won gold at the 2006 World Masters Championship.

Sarah Bower

Development Team Coach

Has led CBC’s Development Program since 2018. A Level 2 certified coach, Masters rower and veteran marathoner.
