Sophia Kearns has raced 5 seasons at Connecticut Boat Club. She is currently a Senior at Darien High School.
Career Highlights:
She joined CBC after moving to Darien and quickly fell in love with the people, the teamwork, and challenge of the sport. After a break, she returned to the CBC with a sense of drive, resilience, and direction. Weeks after rejoining, she competed in the U17 quad at youth nationals and in the fall season the U17 8+ at Head of the Charles. During the 2025 Youth Nationals Sophia raced the 2V4X and earned 12th in the nation. Sophia leads with positivity, consistency, and support, in an effort to set a tone that helps the team stay focused and connected.

- Sophia is Brazilian-American and bi-lingual
- She is obsessed with music and will listen to anything and everything
- Her favorite creative hobby is cooking and baking for people
- Has a goal of “20 before 20” and is already 15 countries deep
- Originally from Manhattan, she moved to Connecticut during COVID
- Most likely to: be caught singing in the erg room or organizing any sort of project

The way this team shows up for each other, on and off the water, is something | will never take for granted. The culture here is like no other because of the relentless effort every girl puts into their athletic performance and team environment. I am lucky to be surrounded by girls and coaches who work daily to bring the best out of the entire team.
