Steve Baranoski’s rowing career started when he picked up his first oar at Marietta College while pursuing his Undergrad Career. He medaled at regattas such as: Dad Vails, SIRA’s, and Head of the Schuylkill. Baranoski was selected to compete in IRA’s and Canadian Henley. He has been an active rowing coach since 2016 with various High School aged teams and Collegiate teams.
Before making his way back to Connecticut, Baranoski was the Assistant Women’s Coach at University of San Diego for 4 years. He then moved back East and led as The Head Women’s Varsity/Head Masters Coach at Princeton National Rowing Association for a year. Steve found his way back to Connecticut by joining Old Lyme Rowing Association as their Head Coach and Director of Rowing.
Making an impact as the Assistant Women’s and Men’s Coach, Steve stepped back into collegiate coaching with Wesleyan University. Ultimately finding his new home as the Varsity Team Assistant Coach at Connecticut Boat Club in Spring 2024. Steve has quickly become a fantastic edition to the all girls team.
To date, Steve has led teams to medaling finishes at the Head of the Charles, US Rowing Youth Nationals, Scholastic Nationals and NIERA’s!
