Steve Baranoski brings over a decade of combined coaching and competitive racing experience. His background spans both collegiate and club programs, and he competed for Marietta College as well as multiple clubs in Philadelphia and Boston during and following his collegiate career.
He began his collegiate coaching career in 2011 at Wesleyan University, serving as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s programs and as recruiting director. During his tenure, both teams achieved success at the New England Championships, ECAC, and NCAA regattas. Baranoski later became head coach and director of rowing for the Old Lyme Rowing Association and spent time coaching and training at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center in Vermont. He subsequently held leadership positions at Princeton National Rowing Association/Mercer, where he served as head girls’ varsity youth coach and head masters coach for both men and women.
From 2016 to 2019, Steve Baranoski served as an assistant coach at the University of San Diego while also coaching with the San Diego Rowing Club. He returned to the East Coast in Spring 2024, when he joined the Connecticut Boat Club as an assistant varsity coach.
