CBC’s 1st Varsity 8+ finished 3rd out of 85 entries at this year’s Head of the Charles regatta in Boston!
CBC’s other boats also turned in impressive performances. CBC’s 4+ finished 35th out of 84 boats — which earns CBC an automatic entry for that event in next year’s regatta — and CBC’s 2nd 8+ finished ahead of over 40 crews, most of whom were their program’s 1st boats!
Congratulations to Catherine Garrett, Olivia Luther, Kat Kern, Julia Abbruzzese and Vivi Van Ingen for winning GOLD at the 2018 US Youth National Championships!
Congratulations as well to Bridget Galloway, Ellie Urdang, Jenna Macrae and Ella Petreski (4th in the 4X) and Heidi Jacobson and Casey Batson (6th in the 2-).
CBC athletes win Gold and Bronze medals at 2018 World Junior Rowing Championships!!!
Four CBC athletes represented the USA at the 2018 World Junior Rowing Championships. CBC Co-Captain, Catherine Garrett, won GOLD in the 4- race, Julia Abbruzzese and Heidi Jacobson won BRONZE in the 4+ race and CBC Co-Captain, Jenna Macrae made the team as a spare.
On Labor Day, several CBC athletes competed in the annual Faxon Law New Haven Road Race, which included half marathon, 20k, 20k-relay and 5k categories. This event raises funds to benefit people in the New Haven area. Participating in it has been a CBC tradition for several years now.
CBC athletes win multiple medals at Club Nationals!
Four current CBC athletes raced for USRowing’s Selection team at the 2018 Club National Championships. Congratulations to Catherine Garrett (Gold – Elite/Senior 4- and Silver – Intermediate 2-), Heidi Jacobson and Julia Abbruzzese (Silver – Elite/Senior 4+ and Gold – Intermediate 4+) and Jenna Macrae (Bronze – Elite/Senior 2-).

To kick off the Fall season, CBC competed at the Rockrimmon Regatta in Springfield, Massachusetts. This super fun regatta has old-school “stake races.” What do you get if you win a stake race?…Steaks, of course! Here are CBC athletes, Gabriella Moore and Whitney Short, with their “victory steaks.”
CBC athletes got to train with two special CBC alums: Olympic rower Grace Luczak (near boat, pink visor) and University of Virginia captain Betsy Nilan (far boat, pink hair). Both rowers trained with Coach Liz Trond at CBC.
