CBC grads, Irene McLaughlin and Natalie Puente, celebrate their come-from-behind win over USC in today’s JV8+ heat.  USC’s eight, stroked by CBC grad Isabel Puente, will have a chance for revenge tomorrow when both boats face off again in the Finals.

While at USRowing’s Small Boats Camp in Florida, Coach Liz and Kaitlyn Kynast ran into CBC alums (and current Northeastern rowers) Sam Schulman and Brooke Hermann on their college training trip . . .  and wearing their CBC unis!!


CBC rocks the C.R.A.S.H.-B. Sprints!

CBC rowers and coxswains competed at the C.R.A.S.H.-B. World Indoor Rowing Championships.  Many personal bests were set and Kaitlyn Kynast beat 190 athletes to win Gold in the Junior Women’s Openweight division! (See the Photos page for pictures.)

CBC Takes Silver Medal at USRowing Youth Nationals

The Connecticut Boat Club, an all-girls rowing team, placed second in women’s youth 8+ at the USRowing Youth National Championships June 14-15. The CBC boat was the only boat from the Northeast.

The CBC silver medal-winning team consists of New Canaan’s Casey Clifford, Darien’s Kendra Shutts, Wilton’s Katherine Squitieri, Darien’sKatie de Haas, Darien’s Courtney Lincoln, Fairfield’s Isabel Fitter, Ridgefield’s Meg Galloway, Darien’s Paige Voigt and Fairfield’s Jessica Ferrante.

“It was definitely one of the best moments of my life,” said Clifford, a rising senior at New Canaan High School. “We were all kind of screaming. There was a lot of relief, and it was unbelievable because it’s been a long season with a lot of ups and downs. To have that outcome was amazing because our boat is unbelievably close and we’re all best friends.”
